About Mountain Engineering & Technology Inc.

If you are still using rolls and reels of cable in your labs for doing transmission equipment qualification and acceptance testing, consider an economical alternative. The additional benefits of using line simulation equipment are higher accuracy, ease of use, repeatability, improved productivity and qualified standards conformance testing.

Mountain Engineering & Technology (ME&T) is a leading manufacturer of transmission line simulation equipment for the telecommunications industries. It is the only US manufacturer of incremental cable simulators suitable for use as laboratory standards in the designing and testing of T1 (1.544Mb/s) and higher data rate equipment.

ME&T  expanded product line includes simulators of a variety of transmission line types and simulators capable of passing data at rates up to and beyond 100Mb/s. By actively seeking customer inputs and closely following the work of the international telecommunications standards committees, ME&T's new products incorporate the most useful standard features and options to facilitate the design and testing of current and next generation communications equipment.

Major telephone switching equipment manufacturers such as Nortel, Lucent, Motorola, Tellabs, Teltrend, and ADC Telecommunications use ME&T simulators in the design and/or production testing of their systems. ME&T simulators have been qualified by AT&T Bell Labs and are used by US Sprint in their CPE qualification labs. Mountain Engineering & Technology has been recognized by members of the international telecommunications standards committees as a supplier of calibration quality lab equipment.

Mountain Engineering - ME-1002

The ME-1002 simulates three types of transmission line commonly used in short distance, interoffice digital telephone systems: 100W and 120W twisted-pair and 75W coaxial cable. It simulates the frequency dependent attenuation characteristics of these lines at the lengths recommended for output pulse mask testing by both US and European standards committees.
